Proverbs Chapter
2
1.My son,
if you receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2. So that thou
incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
3. Yea,
if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4.
If thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hid treasure;
5. Then
shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
6. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his
mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7. He
layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk
uprightly.
8. He
keepeth the paths of judgement, and preserveth the way of his saints.
9. Then
shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgement, and equity; yea, every good
path.

Verses
3 and 4 says to cry after knowledge. Have you ever seen a baby cry after its
mother when she leaves him or her? They are hurt they don’t understand she will
be back, all they know is that they want her, so badly. Cry after knowledge…seek
for understanding by lifting up your
voice (in prayer. Jesus tells us “ ask
and ye shall receive”). Ask questions, look for answers in God’s word, as one
searches for hidden treasure, dedicated, not giving up.
So where do we find wisdom and understanding?
Verse 6 says the Lord gives it…His teachings. How do you find it? By reading
the Bible. His teachings are sound and solid, to the upright he is a buckler.
(Which means He will be your shield to support, to defend, and protection for
you.)
He keeps the paths of judgement=His laws
(commandments and statutes) are unchanging. The way for His saints is set apart,
it is preserved.

10. When
wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11.
Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee.

13. Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk
in the ways of darkness:
14. Who
rejoice to do evil, and delight in the forwardness of the wicked;
15. Whose
ways are crooked, and they forward in their paths; 16. To deliver thee from the
strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17. Which forsaketh the guide of her youth and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
17. Which forsaketh the guide of her youth and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

Here God describes those that we are to stay away from.( But you say that, that sounds like some of your friend…well then either you spend eternity in hell with your friends that practice sin willing, or you can chose to save your own soul and possible theirs as well by sharing God’s word with them.)
God’s knowledge, the understanding of it,
wisdom and discretion will deliver you from evil people, the people who choose
to leave the paths of uprightness and who walk in darkness. They rejoice in
doing evil and delight in the doing of wicked things. They do not follow the
law of man or God, the women who seduce men to do evil against themselves, in
the end lose all that is good in their lives. We have a choice to allow
ourselves to do evil or not. But, it is a lot easier with Jesus as your savior
and the Holy Spirit in your heart…Jesus has already defeated evil.
20. That
thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21. For, the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in
it. 22. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors
shall be rooted out of it.

But
there is a limit to everything even God’s longsuffering against sin.
The
Road to Salvation (KJV)
Romans
3: 23, 24 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being
justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
Romans
5:8 “But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.”
John
3:15 “For God so loved the world That He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
1
John 4:9”In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God
sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him.”
John
6: 47, 48 “Verily, verily, I say unto you He that believeth on me hath
everlasting life. I am that bread of
life.”
Romans
10:9 – 14 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, whosoever
believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between
the Jew and the Greek; for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call
upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed: and how
shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard: and how shall they hear
without a preacher?”
II
Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
If you
are not saved, I pray you will accept Christ as your Savior to day. We are not
promised another minute on this earth. We are but on a journey, passing though
this world to the next, and you have a choice of where you will spend eternity.
I pray you choose to spend it in Heaven with the Father, and the Son and the
Holy Spirit and all those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God and paid our
sin debt for us.
