GENESIS- CHAPTER 3:
Why Is There Sin?
Interdiction: this
chapter describes how sin enter into the world,
The who, why, what, when and
where it all happened.
1. Now the
serpent was more subtle then any beast of the field which the Lord God had
made. And he said unto the woman," Yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every
tree of the garden?”
2. And the woman said unto the serpent, “We may eat of the
fruit of the trees of the garden: 3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in
the midst of the garden, God hath said, ‘Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall
ye touch it, lest ye die.’ “4. And the serpent said unto the woman, “Ye shall not surely die, 5. For God doth know that in the day that ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
6. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. 9. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him,” Where art thou?” 10. And he said,” I heard they voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked and I hid myself.” 11. And He said, “Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?” 12. And the man said,” The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13. And the Lord God said unto the woman, “What is this that thou has done?” And the woman said.” The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.”
As we all
know the serpent beguiled Eve. Meaning that he did not tell her all the truth.
The act of disobeying Gods’ direct command was the first sin; Adams devotion to
Eve compromised his faithfulness to Gods’ commands, and thus he also chose to
sin against God, the second sin. As we read in the verses, Eve pointed the
finger at the serpent, Adam pointed the finger at Eve for disobeying
Gods commandment. Not being honest and taking responsibility for one’s own actions was the
third sin. God knows our hearts, our thoughts.
14. And the Lord God said unto the serpent," Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon they belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
16 Unto the woman He said, “I will greatly multiply they sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bringforth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.”17. And unto Adam He said.” Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of they wife, and hast eaten of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying, ‘Thou shalt not eat of it:’ cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19. In the sweat of they face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”
This is
the punishment that God gave to all three parties that took part in bringing
sin into the world. God is all knowing….the past, the present and the future. I
feel He knew this was going to happen, after all He gave man “free will”. I
think His end plan is to have everyone in Heaven who really wants to be there.
Not desiring to be someplace else, people who love God the Father, Jesus and
the Holy Ghost. But once Adam and Eve did sin Gods’ plans continued toward the
finality of salvation from sin and everlasting eternal life with Him.
20. And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. 21. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
At the end of this paragraph we see that even though Adam and Eve sinned against God, He still loved them. He cared for them and provided for them. Very much as we do with our children to day.
At times we may not like them very much because of choices they make and have to punish them somethings with hard love, but we never stop loving them.
22. And the Lord God said, “Behold, the man
is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his
hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever:
23
Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the
ground from whence he was taken. 24. So he drove out the man; and he placed at
the east of the garden of Eden Cher’-u-bims, and a flaming sword which turned
every way; to keep the way of the tree of life.
How awful
it would be to inherit the sin nature and have no salvation from its’ penalty.
To die in sin is to die without God, without redemption. So if Adam and Eve had
eaten from the tree of live that is exactly what would have happen.
I thank
God that He loves us so much…. that he planned a way for us to be sanctified
through His Son Jesus Christ.
How
many blessing did God give you today? How do I know a blessing when it
happens, you ask? Did you wake up this morning? That’s one; did you have
something to eat? That’s two….and so on. You will be surprised how many
blessing you were given

The Road to Salvation (KJV)
Romans 3: 23, 24 “For all
have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by His
grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 5:8 “But God commended
His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 3:15 “For God so loved
the world That He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
1 John 4:9”In this was
manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten
Son into the world that we might live through Him.”
John 6: 47, 48 “Verily,
verily, I say unto you He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life.”
Romans 10:9 – 14 “That if
thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with
the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on Him shall
not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek;
for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14. How then
shall they call on him in whom they have not believed: and how shall they
believe in him of whom they have not heard: and how shall they hear without a
preacher?”
II Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed
away; behold, all things are become new.”
If you are not saved, I pray you will
accept Christ as your Savior to day. We are not promised another minute on this
earth. We are but on a journey, passing though this world to the next, and you
have a choice of where you will spend eternity. I pray you choose to spend it
in Heaven with the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit and all those who
believe that Jesus is the Son of God and paid our sin debt for us.
